A Companion Card allows you, as the main cardholder, the facility to transfer money instantly, anywhere in the world to any family member or friend you have issued a Companion Card to. Whether you are transferring money to friends and family abroad or sending money home you can do this easily online with your Freedom card, the process is fast and secure. Freedom Card gives you competitive exchange rates, and transferring money is free avoiding unnecessary bank charges.

Issue a card to your teen, load it with their 'pocket money' or weekly allowance and they can use their own card to purchase goods online (internet shopping), withdraw cash as they need it from any ATM, or use it to purchase goods from any shop that displays the MasterCard logo. You can therefore assist younger family members to learn about managing their money as they can only spend the amount that is loaded by you onto their card. You are in total control and their spending can be monitored by you in real time, 24/7, either online or remotely by SMS.

Emergency Money Transfer
There are often times when you have a need to quickly transfer cash to a friend or family member. They may have lost their wallet, need cash to get a taxi home or just need additional funds for any reason, but they need it NOW! In an emergency, you could transfer cash instantly from your Freedom Primary Card to any Companion Card linked to your account, allowing the Companion Cardholder to withdraw the cash from any ATM or spend the money directly from the card........problem solved!

There are many ways to use a Companion Card. You could even have one for your own use, allowing you to manage your money better by having one card for shopping, one card for online purchases or for any use you feel would be of benefit to you or your family.

You can purchase additional cards by logging onto the My Account area of the Freedom website and selecting 'Order Companion Cards'.

The Primary Cardholder has complete control over their funds as only they can arrange to share money with other cardholders linked to that account, either by phone, online or SMS. Companion Card costs are displayed on the Tariff Summary page of the Freedom website, see Terms & Conditions for full details. Companion Cardholders must be 13 years or older.

Please not minimum transfer amount is £25 and you must have at least £10 remaining on the primary card after the transfer has been completed. For example to transfer £25 you need to have £35 on the primary card.
